"To create a luxurious key packaging system which portrays the principles of McLaren as an innovative company and enhances the experience of purchasing a vehicle."
Inspired by the craft and culture behind the car group, the system incorporates the lightweight and innovative technology of the vehicles into
an artistic statue piece.
*The project was completed during a work experience at McLaren Automotive.


Extensive research was conducted to understand the brand's DNA.

Primary and literary research suggested that the group's DNA consists of
three design principles.
​
1. Expression of their origin story
2. Minimalism, as to increase performance.
3. Continuous optimization and development.

Countless sketches of all fidelities were created.
​
Sketching was a great tool throughout this project because it allowed for the exploration of new forms and function
as well as facilitating communication for feedback from stakeholders.
​
The sketches led to the three
advanced concepts shown.


Once the final concept was chosen, weeks were spent designing and meeting with stakeholders to iterate and refine the concept.
​
Having access to these wonderful stakeholders (McLaren clients) allowed for optimum feedback and reflection.

Enhancing the already elite experience of purchasing
a McLaren vehicle.

Inspired by the technological and design advances of McLaren, this key packaging system enhances the experience of purchasing their vehicles by allowing the customers to immediately experience the precision and detail that goes into
any McLaren product.

To conclude the project, I pitched the concept to the Design Executives at McLaren Automotive HQ .
​
The experience was incredible and extremely beneficial. Since presenting to them, I have significantly improved in my public speaking and demonstration skills.
